Then it gets into how the new jaguar/Land Rover ingenium line is going to have an inline 6. Then they say that jaguar would have to twin turbo an inline 6 to give it the power of the v8.

Alrighty so far here are the problems I have had with my 2015 Jaguar F-Type base (V6): Ground wire disconnected/loose in front left fender area cause all warning lights to go off and the car to go into limp mode. Cost to tow and repair: $1000 ($200 tow truck). Wheel bearing gone bad.
Phenomenal driving car with the V6 S engine (V8 feels nose heavy to me). The supercharged v6 is a pretty reliable engine, my friends with F types have mostly had only head unit issues that required a reset. That being said I have heard of lemon f Types. The 718 will be more reliable and hold its value better.

Some previous threads in here list some things to look out for on used cars. Check everything works opens shuts, door handles pop out etc. The cars can be prone to stone chips on the nose and rear arches, so check the condition/quality of the paint here. Some early owners reported misting inside headlamps.
